MISSION STATEMENT
Senior Services of the Chathams is a not for profit corporation formed to provide services and housing for the elderly, appropriate to their needs, so that they can remain independent in the community. To carry out this mission, we operate the Senior Citizen Center of the Chathams, which provides information and referral services, recreational, social, health and educational programs, as well as transportation and other resources for the citizens of the Chathams.
Senior Services Center is located at 58 Meyersville Rd., Chatham New Jersey 07928
HISTORY
Senior Services Center of the Chathams, Inc. inaugurated the Senior Center, Senior Resource Center and the Senior Bus Service in May 1990. Thanks to the generosity of the municipality of Chatham Township, space was provided for a senior center in the lower level of the Township municipal building. The organization was an offspring of the Chatham Interfaith Council of Churches and was originally incorporated under the name Interfaith Homes and Services. In 1998 the agency name was changed to Senior Services Center of the Chathams Inc. to better reflect the services offered.
Our success is due to the generosity of our donors – individuals and families who understand the importance of the care and support we provide. Planned gifts are investments in the community that insure that these services will continue long into the future. We hope that you will now consider lending your support in this very meaningful and personal way – by remembering Senior Services in your will. TRUSTEES William Fagnant Co-President How can I help?
All of us have to varying degrees, time, talent, and treasure that we can share in supporting the mission of the center. We are always in need of volunteers to help on various projects offered by the center. If you are interested in helping out, feel free to stop by the office and talk with us about your special skill or talent that we might put to work at the center. We have various ways you can share with us some of your treasure. Some of our programs offer income that cannot be outlived for you and a spouse should you have one. We can help you set up a donor advised fund, which is like your own personal foundation. You decide what people or organizations will receive your generosity. You could leave money to the center in your will for general funding of the center or offer money for a specific purpose. Another way to contribute is by making the center your beneficiary of a life insurance policy. These are just some of the ways you can help us help seniors in
