Meals on Wheels Options

Private pay:  Call SAGE of Summit, 908-273-5554 for delivery of a hot lunch and cold supper.  Cost $8 per day. 

Senior Citizen Club of the Chathams
Meets at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham Twp. on the first Wednesday of the month.  Meeting begins at 10:00 a.m.  Open to senior residents of Chatham Twp. and Chatham Borough only.  Coffee and cake at 9:30.  There is a procedure for membership and yearly dues.  Attend a meeting as a guest and receive further information. AARP Local Chapter
Meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month Sept. to May, at the Chatham Twp. Presbyterian Church, 9:30.  Open to all.  President, Vince Sacco

First Friday Luncheon

Summit Old Guard
Meets every Tuesday at New Providence Municipal Building at 10 a.m., coffee at 9:30 a.m.  Meeting plus a program...Call Foster Osborne for information on membership, 908-273-7472.

Madison Health Department
Covers Chatham Twp. and Chatham Borough.  Provides screenings, healthy bones classes and health related services for residents.  Yearly flu shots are provided in each town for seniors and the disabled.  Call 973-593-3079 for information.

Operation Reassurance
This free program is run by the police departments of Chatham Borough and Chatham Township.  Residents living alone register with the police department and give the department a key to your home.  The resident phones in each morning before 10 a.m. to notify the officer that he or she is o.k.  If the resident forgets to call, the police will try to call them.  If there is no answer, an officer will be sent to the home to check on the client.  

Colony Pool and Tennis, Spring St., Chatham Township.
Senior fee of $50 enables senior members full use of the pool and tennis courts.  Pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.  Senior bus is available for transportation in summer between 10 and 3 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Memorial Park Pool Chatham Borough.  Pool is open between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  Senior membership is $50.  Activities for seniors are being planned if there is sufficient interest.  The senior bus may be used on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10 and 3.
