Chatham Senior Bus Service: How it Works
The service is for Chatham Borough and Township residents over the age of 60, able to access the bus with minimal assistance. Home Health Aides are welcome to accompany the client. Suggested donation is $1.00 per day.
Partial Funding is provided by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders
Transportation is provided to any destination in Chatham Township, Chatham Borough, and Madison. When possible, we will transport to New Providence shopping center area.
Shoppers are asked to purchase only what they can carry themselves.
The senior bus operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Firday, between 9 and 2.
A Mall trip is provided on the second Wednesday of the month to the Livingston and Short Hills Mall
To use the service:
Call the senior center at 973-635-4565 the day before your trip between 9:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m.
Leave your name, phone number, destination and the time you wish to be picked up.
Our staff will confirm your reservation.
Suggested bus use:
Senior Center, shopping (Kings, Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, Main St. and Hickory Shops), hair salons and barbers, restaurants for lunch, library, municipal buildings, friend's home, train station, bus stop, cleaners, Madison YMCA or library, Madison shopping area...you get the idea.
MAPS - Morris Area Paratransit Service
This free service is provided by the County of Morris for transportation of Seniors and the Disabled for medical appointments and employment purposes.
MAPS provides medical transport anywhere in Morris County 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, and to medical appointments at Overlook and the Summit Medical Group in Union County on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please give as much advance notice as possible. Try to make appointments for mid to late mornings as the service only runs from 9 to 2.
